Relay For Life 2011 Penang

The very early of October started with charity event :)

although it was a bit late to blog now

Relay For Life Penang 2011 was actually held on 1st & 2nd October

It is a 16 hours overnight event that started Saturday evening until Sunday morning

i and the gang of  40 TESLian had involve as volunteer 

but we just stayed for Saturday and absent on Sunday due to some transport  problem 

super lucky cause it was sunny for the whole saturday & rains poured on sunday

4.30pm Check-in

6.00 Opening Lap

 Celebrating Survivorship: the first lap is walked by cancer survivors and their carers

8.00 Luminaria ceremony

Remembering loved ones: this special candle-lit ceremony  will be followed by a candle-lit lap

8.45 Live stage entertainment

 Singing, dancing, magic - it's all part of the Relay fun!

12.00 - 7.00 Overnight

Fighting back: the 16 hour Relay symbolises our on-going fight against cancer. Plenty of fun to be had on track, with special laps and spot prizes throughout the night.

7.00am Sunday morning

Tug of War, special laps, prize ceremonies, haircutting fundraiser from Pewaju, live stage performances

9.45am Last Laps

Join us as we come to the last laps on yet another journey together in our fight against cancer.

10.00am Closing Ceremony

we were the early birds so had plenty of time to walk around and taking photo

before opening ceremony
people gathered and danced together

we all joined in the 2nd lap

lots of stall run at the same time

hands-drawing, food stalls, games stalls and others 

all using coupons for charity purpose

but i finished out all my RM 20 coupons all on food only~.~

even didn't had enough time to walk all the stalls around the field

my volunteer work started 7pm

"clean the table around the food stalls so that other people can sit down for their food"

i was like blanked for few seconds cause before we were inform to help in selling food

 but the job still manged to carried on well with the heart for charity

some kind people throw their rubbish into the trash bag by themselves and kept on said thank you

some people just left it on the table and walk around (Malaysia style)
BUT

F annoyed after we done our job and got 1 guys told his friend

 "finally that 2 girls no need to clean the rubbish" 

and all his friends laughed

my friends are more pity caused got 1 girl scolded them being busy body to clean her table

WE ARE VOLUNTEER AND WE PROUD OF IT

DON'T ONLY KNOW HOW TO LAUGHED BUT DO NOTHING

U CAN ALSO HELP FOR THE CHARITY EVENT

RELAY FOR LIFE was a meaning event as cancers get thousands of life every year 

Apple CEO STEVE JOBS also died of pancreatic cancer after released of iphone 4s

i just did a presentation about Steve Jobs a month ago before he is dead @.@

and he was chosen as my international hero for the moral presentation

salute him for his spirit on his works and the iproducts that i like

it was hard to believe he only took US$1 for his annual salary although the apple company earn a lot

he was also the board member of The Walt Disney
Disney is the only cartoon channel i watched since young until now

i was shock with the news of his dead
and my cute classmates even said condolence to me cause they knew Steve was my hero after my presentation
cancer is too cruel to bring away such a significant person from this world
so damn u cancer!
